EXHORTATION TO OBEDIENCE

MEMORY VERSE: Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have endlessly obeyed, non as in my presence only, but directly much more in my absence, work out your make salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12)


TEXT: Deuteronomy 4:1-49.

Moses had been doing the recount of the experiences
of the children of Israel since they left Egypt up till
this time in our text. He reminded them of idols care, love and the results of their past disobedience. He had alike told them of the impartial nature of God, even when he disobeyed, God did not spare him. On that ground, he exhorted the children of Israel to obey the Lord. Now so hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and take the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you (Deuteronomy 4:1).
In this study, we are going to consider how Moses admonished the children of Israel to obey God, with the musical accompaniment blessings. We are also going to consider what would be the consequences of disobedience to God. He particularly stressed the warning against idolatry and gave Gods provision for safety for manslayer who might slaughter another preson unawares (Deuteronomy 4:42).

The recounts of Moses gave a good understanding to the children of Israel about what disobedience could eccentric them.
